Every location, one place

Each location gets its own profile, tax rate and stock count

Location Profiles

Each location keeps its own address,
phone and review link.

A location in UpChannels is a store, warehouse, office, distribution center or service center. Give it a name, a type, an address and a phone number, and it becomes a place orders can be written, stock can be held and a day can be closed out.

Five location types: store, warehouse, office, distribution center, service center
Address, email and phone stored per location
A Google review link per location, used by the review request
Active or inactive status — an inactive location stops appearing on new orders

Tax Profile Management

The tax rate follows
the location on the order.

A tax profile holds one rule per jurisdiction — state, county, city — and UpChannels adds the active rules into a single rate. When a sale is written, the rate comes from the profile tied to that order's location, so two stores in two counties charge two different totals without anyone typing a percentage.

Create as many tax profiles as you have jurisdictions
Add multiple tax rules per profile (state, county, city)
The rate is the sum of the active rules, calculated for you
Orders use the profile tied to their location, or your organization's default

A second or third store

Each store is a location under one organization, with its own stock counts, orders and daily journal.

📦

A warehouse or back lot

Warehouse is a location type, so back-stock sits off the sales floor and still shows in the same inventory search.

⚙️

One settings screen

Add, edit and deactivate every location from Settings — one login, one product catalog, one customer list.

Transfers between locations

Move units from one location to another; each transfer writes a stock movement out of the source and into the destination.

Common questions

Running more than one location, answered

Do I pay for each location separately?
Yes. UpChannels is priced per store, so a second location is a second plan at the same monthly rate as your first, and each plan includes two users with extra users added in packs of five, charged per pack per month. Multi-location management itself is not a separate add-on — adding a location is what you pay for. Current plan prices and the price of a user pack are on the pricing page.
Can I see what's in stock at my other store without calling over there?
Yes. Stock is counted per location, so a product search shows the on-hand quantity at every one of your locations side by side, and each serialized unit records which location it is physically sitting at. You can search across all locations by SKU, serial number or barcode.
How do I move a unit from one store to another?
Create a transfer in Inventory. You pick the from-location and the to-location, search only the products that actually have stock at the source, and confirm quantities. UpChannels writes a stock movement out of the source and into the destination, so both counts stay correct and the move stays on the item history rather than disappearing as an unexplained adjustment.
What happens when my two stores are in different tax jurisdictions?
Each location can carry its own tax profile, and a profile holds as many rules as the jurisdiction needs — state, county, city — which UpChannels sums into one rate. When a sale is written, the rate comes from the tax profile tied to that order's location. If a location has no profile of its own, the order falls back to your organization's default profile, so nothing is ever untaxed by accident.
Can I stop staff at one store from seeing the other store?
Not by location — this is a real limit worth knowing before you buy. Permissions in UpChannels are by role across the whole organization, so a user who can see orders can see orders at every location. What location does control is the default: each user has a primary location that pre-fills on the orders and counts they write, so day-to-day nobody has to pick their own store.
Does a new location have to be set up from scratch?
No. Locations live inside one organization, so your product catalog, customers, vendors, service types and accounting stay shared — the new location only needs a name, a type, an address and a phone number, plus its own tax profile if the rate differs. Its stock counts start at zero and fill in as you receive or transfer units into it.
Can I close a location without losing its history?
Yes. Every location has an active/inactive switch. Switching it off removes it from the location picker on new orders while its past orders, stock movements, transfers and daily journal entries stay on file and keep reporting exactly as before.

Multiple Location Management is one part of UpChannels

UpChannels records every location — store, warehouse, office, distribution center or service center — as a separate site inside one organization, so a small retailer or service business running two or three of them keeps one login, one product catalog and one customer list. Stock levels, serialized units, orders, cycle counts and daily journal entries are each stored against the location they happened at, and a transfer between locations writes a stock movement out of one and into the other. Each location carries its own address, phone, Google review link and sales tax profile, so the tax rate on an order follows the store that wrote it.

UpChannels is an all-in-one platform for small retailers and service businesses — sales, inventory, customers, scheduling, delivery, payments and finance in one system — and a real team that builds your website, runs your ads, and automates the busywork. Every capability below is included in the same subscription, with no integration to wire up between them.

The product moves faster than this page. UpChannels ships updates most weeks, so a description here can lag what is already in the software. Where the two disagree, the running product is the current version — tell us if you find one and we will correct the page.
