Inventory questions, answered

Can I track serial numbers on individual units, or only quantities?
Both, in the same catalog. A product can be held as bulk quantity — a count per location — or as trackable units, where every unit is its own record with a serial number, barcode, condition, grade, cost and retail price. Serial numbers and barcodes are unique within your organization, so the same unit cannot be received into stock twice, and each unit moves Available to Reserved to Sold, or Scrapped if you write it off.
Can two units of the same model carry different conditions and prices?
Yes, and that is what trackable units are for. Each unit carries its own condition (New, Like New, Good, Fair, Poor or Damaged), its own grade such as A, B or C, and its own cost and retail price, so an open-box piece sits beside a new one at a different price. Liquidation, appliance and furniture stores use this to price a load unit by unit instead of averaging it.
How do I get a truckload of units in without typing each one?
Import a spreadsheet. The procurement import reads a CSV with SKU, serial number, cost price, retail price and condition on each line and creates one tracked unit per row; the product import loads the catalog itself — name, SKU, model, category, brand, price — from a template you download, with a preview before anything is written. Rows whose serial number already exists are skipped rather than counted twice.
What happens to my stock when a customer places an order, and if that order is cancelled?
It is held, not deducted. Writing the order commits that quantity at that location so it stops being sellable while on-hand stays the same, and a trackable unit flips from Available to Reserved. Cancel the order and the hold is released back to available; fulfill or deliver it and the unit flips to Sold and an outbound movement is written to the history.
What do I do when the number on the screen does not match what is on the shelf?
Run the inventory audit from the Inventory page. It scans your active stock levels for eight specific problems — ledger drift, available mismatch, negative on-hand, over-reservation, missing unit records, negative bulk quantity, stock held by no order, and unrecorded reservations — and where two readings are possible you choose which one is the truth before anything changes. Corrections post as adjustment movements rather than silent edits, and the same checks are recorded automatically every night, so drift shows up as a dated row instead of a surprise six weeks later.
Does UpChannels sync my inventory to eBay, Facebook Marketplace or a wholesale marketplace?
No, and that is the honest limit today. There is no channel sync to eBay, Facebook Marketplace or Amazon, and the wholesale marketplace inside UpChannels — where stores post what they need and list what they hold — is in development, not yet shipped. What ships today is everything inside your own operation: receiving, transfers, counts, labels, orders, delivery and the reports over them.
Is inventory management an add-on, or is it in the base plan?
Included in every plan, Basic included — inventory, product management, procurement and multiple-location management are all part of the base subscription. The optional add-ons are integrated card payments and bank reconciliation, each quoted separately. Pricing is per store with two users included, and the 14-day trial does not ask for a card.
