Start with what each one is. NMG OneShop, formerly Retailer Web Services, is a website, e-commerce and digital-marketing platform for appliance, furniture, bedding, electronics and flooring retailers: a OneShop Website is $699 a month with a $699 sign-up fee, carries unlimited brands and products with 360-degree images, a package builder, promotions and rebates, standard and premium payment gateways and web chat, comes with a dedicated account manager and Podium Essentials for reviews, and syncs with fifteen named POS and ERP systems, from STORIS and ePASS to Furniture Wizard, TylerNet and Appliance.io. Its advertising program runs Google, Bing, Facebook and Instagram campaigns at a $2,000-a-month spend, with vendor-funded campaigns at $1,500 each. It does not sell a point of sale. UpChannels is the other way round: $149 a month on Pro buys the store system — the register, serialized stock, service jobs, delivery with proof, the books — and a services team then builds the website on your own domain, runs the Google and Meta ads and connects the rest, each quoted rather than published. OneShop is the stronger choice for a retailer who already has a POS it syncs with and wants a manufacturer-catalog storefront, financing partners at checkout, co-op campaigns and a published platform price; UpChannels for a store that needs the system itself, wants the website and the ads from the same people who run its software, and would rather measure ads against its own sales records. Whether OneShop requires Nationwide membership, what its contract term is, and whether the $2,000 is a minimum or a recommendation, its pages do not say (all checked 6 November 2026).
Comparing UpChannels Pro ($149/mo per store, 2 users included) plus the services team, quoted with NMG OneShop OneShop Website ($699/mo with a $699 sign-up fee), with Always-On Advertising at a $2,000/mo minimum spend. Every fact about NMG OneShop below was read from their own published pages on . Prices change — check theirs before you decide.
A mark for NMG OneShop means the feature is on their own pages as read on ; a mark for UpChannels means it ships today. "Partly" is a higher plan, an add-on, or part of the job. "Not documented" means we could not find it on their pages — not that they lack it. The detail for every row is in the table further down.

| What is each one, exactly? | Store software — POS, stock, service, delivery, customers, books — sold per store from $99 a month, plus a services team that builds the website, runs Google and Meta ads and connects other systems, each quoted. The software works without the services; the services run on the software. | A website, e-commerce and digital-marketing platform under five headings: Website Solutions, Marketing Automation, Digital Advertising, Reviews Management and Sales Enablement. Its homepage title is "E-Commerce Website & Digital Solutions"; its pages describe no point of sale, inventory or delivery software, and its partners page lists the POS and ERP systems it syncs with. Formerly Retailer Web Services — retailerwebservices.com returned a 301 to oneshop.nationwidegroup.org on 6 November 2026. |
| What does year one cost? | Pro is $149/mo per store ($1,788 a year), month-to-month, no setup fee, with two users included and $29 for each pack of five more. The website and the ads are quoted for the store and are not published here — so there is no like-for-like year-one figure to print beside theirs. | Published on their Technology & Pricing page: "OneShop Website $699/Month w/ $699 sign-up fee" ($9,087 in year one if the sign-up fee is one-time, which the page does not say), or "OneShop + Marketing Automations $999/Month w/ $999 sign-up fee"; marketing automation alone "$300/month"; "Always-On Advertising Minimum spend: $2,000 per month*"; "Vendor Promotional Advertising Minimum spend $1,500 per campaign*". The asterisks have no footnote, and "*Fee Structure Varies. Speak to a OneShop Representative to learn more." Enterprise customization is quote-only. Portfolio Websites for home-service trades are $199 or $499 a month with $499 or $999 sign-up fees (checked 6 November 2026). |
| The website itself | Built by our team on your own domain: a product storefront with checkout showing the store’s own catalog and prices, a booking-first service site, or both, running on the same system as the counter so stock and orders are one record. Design, hosting and upkeep are part of the quoted service. | A subscription that "covers design, development, hosting, and ongoing support", mobile-responsive, with "SEO best practices baked in". The $699 package lists "Unlimited Categories, Brands & Products", "360 Degree Images", "Special Catalogs", "White Labeling", standard pages plus "+10 Custom Designed Landing Pages", promotional and special-catalog banners, "Email Cart", "Unlimited Delivery Rates", add-ons for "Warranty, Protection Plans, Accessories & More!", a "Package Builder", "Promotions + Rebates", "Standard Payment Gateways" and "Premium Payment Gateways", "Web Chat & Integrations" and a "Digital Price Tags Integration" (checked 6 November 2026). |
| Paying online — cards, financing, lease-to-own | In store, every tender a small store takes is recorded by name, including lease-to-own by provider with the approval number kept at cash close. On the storefront, checkout runs on the store’s own processor; financing partners are not offered at online checkout, and a customer paying an open balance from the portal is coming soon. | The partners page lists "Payment & Financing Providers": Wells Fargo, Synchrony, Progressive Leasing, PayPal, Authorize.net, Affirm, Snap Finance, PayTomorrow and EBizCharge, offering "flexibility and convenience at checkout". What each connection does, and any fee, is not stated (checked 6 November 2026). |
| Ads run for you | Our team sets up and runs Google Search and Performance Max campaigns and the Google Business Profile, and builds and runs Meta campaigns with retargeting from your real customer records; the software compares ad spend against the orders your own system recorded. Quoted, with no published minimum or management fee. | Their team "handles the complexity of campaign planning, execution, and optimization" across "Google (Display, Shopping, and Search Ads), Bing, Facebook, Instagram, and more", with "Dedicated Digital Advisors". The pricing page prints "Minimum spend: $2,000 per month"; the advertising FAQ says "We recommend starting with at least $2,000 per month". Vendor-funded campaigns are $1,500 each and "Earn Bonus Coop funds". A management fee, reporting and how the stated "6x return on their ad investment" was measured are not on the page (checked 6 November 2026). |
| Reviews | Read and reply to Google Business Profile reviews inside UpChannels on every plan. The review invitation sent from a finished order runs on the Customer Portal (Pro and Premium), and the SMS review-invite campaign is part of SMS campaigns on Pro. | "Powered by Podium": Podium’s Essentials package is included with OneShop and covers Monitor ("all major reviews sites"), Respond and Highlight (featuring reviews on the OneShop site), naming Google, Yelp, Facebook and industry sites; the Pro package is an add-on at "exclusive pricing" that is not printed. Invitations after a sale are mentioned in the introduction, not in the included list (checked 6 November 2026). |
| Tools for the sales floor | A quote the customer opens from a link and signs, discount limits with manager approval by PIN or phone, commission and spiffs worked out per person, printed price tags with the MSRP struck through, and competitor monitoring that finds local rivals on Google Maps and opens their Google and Meta ads and search trends. No rebate tracking. | A web-based "Sales Enablement portal": shop "the Big Box competitors" during a visit, price-change alerts and pricing suggestions, NMG and manufacturer rebates in one place, quotes sent by email or text with open notifications, expiry dates and attached manufacturer documents, lead tracking, and an account per team member. No POS, inventory or order system is described on that page (checked 6 November 2026). |
| The store system — register, stock, service, delivery, books | This is the product. Serialized and bulk stock with conditions and photos on a permanent ledger, service jobs with a technician’s day link, delivery routing with signature and photos at the door, the time clock and pay runs, and on Pro a double-entry ledger with a P&L and balance sheet. | Not what OneShop sells, and not scored here as a gap. Its partners page lists "POS & ERP Integrations" — AltheaSuite, NetSuite, E-Pass, Storis, Myriad, Furniture Wizard, Profit Systems, Prime Systems, Whirlwind, Reliable Softworks, Smartwerks, Tyler, ARS, FRS and Appliance.io — to "keep inventory, sales, and customer data in sync"; whether each sync is one-way or two-way, and what it costs, is not stated. UpChannels is not on the list (checked 6 November 2026). |
| Who is it for, and who can buy it? | Small retailers and service businesses of any affiliation; no buying-group membership is involved. | Its industry page names Major Appliances, Furniture, Bedding, Consumer Electronics, Flooring, Outdoor Living, Rent-to-Own, Home Improvement and Custom Integration, with Portfolio Websites for home-service trades. The site lives at nationwidegroup.org and its sales-enablement page refers to "NMG" rebates, but no page read says whether a buyer must be a Nationwide Marketing Group member; the About page does not mention Nationwide or Retailer Web Services at all (checked 6 November 2026). |
| Who looks after me? | Setup help on every plan from the same team that builds the website and runs the ads; no named account manager, and no 24/7 claim. | "No ticketing systems, just dedicated account managers who know your business" (About page); "dedicated account managers and 24/7 support" (Web Solutions page); "Dedicated Digital Advisors" for advertising. Support hours and staffing are not described (checked 6 November 2026). |
| Am I locked into anything? | Month-to-month on every plan, cancel any time, no setup fee; the 14-day trial takes no card. A quoted services engagement states its own term in the quote. | Not stated. The Technology & Pricing page prints sign-up fees and monthly fees but no contract length, cancellation terms, or whether the sign-up fee recurs; the Terms of Use linked in the footer were not read for this comparison (checked 6 November 2026). |
