UpChannels
← All comparisons

Furniture Wizard is built around the furniture trade’s vendors and partners. UpChannels is built around the truck, the serial number and a price you can read.

Furniture Wizard has been developed for furniture stores since 1997 and shows it: its partner page names Ashley stock checks and purchase orders, the Coaster catalog, AVB/BrandSource and Nationwide Marketing Group OneShop data feeds, DispatchTrack routing, Guardsman protection plans and Kenect and Podium texting, and its iFurniture iPad app lets a salesperson sell from the floor today; it also runs on your own Windows server if you want the data in the building. What its pages do not show is a price — there is no pricing page, no trial, and the only next step is a demo — and several things an appliance or service dealer would ask about: serial numbers, proof of delivery, financing or lease-to-own tenders, layaway, deposits, commissions and a time clock are not on the pages we read, and "Service Order Functions" is named without a description (checked 6 November 2026). UpChannels publishes $99 to $199 a month with a 14-day trial, keeps every unit by serial with a condition and photos, routes the truck and proves the delivery inside the system, records lease-to-own by provider, runs repair jobs with a technician link and warranty claims, and closes the books on Pro — and it has none of Furniture Wizard’s vendor catalog feeds, no iPad app yet, no on-premise option, and an online store built by its team rather than a self-serve site. A furniture store that lives on Ashley and BrandSource feeds, sells from an iPad and wants its own server has good reasons to choose Furniture Wizard; a store that wants the price up front, serials with conditions, delivery proof and lease-to-own in one system has good reasons to choose UpChannels.

At a glance

A mark for Furniture Wizard means the feature is on their own pages as read on ; a mark for UpChannels means it ships today. "Partly" is a higher plan, an add-on, or part of the job. "Not documented" means we could not find it on their pages — not that they lack it. The detail for every row is in the table further down.

Strengths and limits, both sides

Written to the same standard for each: a limit of ours is stated as plainly as a limit of theirs. Furniture Wizard’s strengths are what their pages document; ours are what ships.

Furniture Wizard

Strengths

  • Furniture-trade integrations by name: Ashley stock checks, purchase orders and catalog import, the Coaster catalog, AVB/BrandSource product and pricing data, and a Nationwide Marketing Group OneShop website feed.
  • A partner for each job around the sale — DispatchTrack for route optimization, Guardsman for protection plans, Kenect and Podium for texts and review invites, Storetraffic and trakwell.ai for foot traffic, Wondersign for the showroom.
  • An iPad selling app that exists today: iFurniture puts catalogs, images, availability and the customer list in the salesperson’s hands on the floor, with up-sell prompts and room packages.
  • Your choice of your own Windows server or their cloud; the server edition is recommended for larger or multi-location stores, and the cloud edition removes the server.
  • "Hundreds of easy to read, real time reports", a Super Search tool, permissions and user accountability, and price tags with the store logo and item photos.
  • Developed for furniture stores since 1997, with a knowledge base and a training site; the company says thousands of stores use it.
  • QuickBooks expenses and payables synced in one click.

Limits

  • No published price, no trial, and no contract terms on the site; the only next step is a demo.
  • Serial numbers, proof of delivery, financing or lease-to-own tenders, layaway, deposits, commissions and a time clock are not on the pages we read.
  • "Service Order Functions", "Mobile Point-of-Sale", "Drop Ship Capabilities" and "Relationship Management" are named on the features page without a description.
  • Route optimization is a partner (DispatchTrack), not built in; the built-in delivery screen is a calendar with maps and directions.
  • The local edition is Windows-only on a wired network, the server edition needs Windows Server with Remote Desktop and a VPN, and the iPad app is not available for iPhone or Android.
  • Support hours are not stated; the profit-and-loss and balance sheet come from QuickBooks, not from the system.

UpChannels

Strengths

  • A price on the page — $99, $149 or $199 a month per store — a 14-day trial without a card, no setup fee, and month-to-month terms.
  • Every serialized unit with a condition and a status, photos and history; every movement a permanent ledger entry; a one-click audit that finds and corrects drift.
  • The truck in the system: one-click route order, a driver link with no app, signature and photos at the door even without signal, and a tracking link texted to the customer at five points.
  • Lease-to-own by provider, with the approval number kept on the awaiting-funding list at cash close until the provider pays.
  • Repair jobs with a technician’s day link, parts from stock, equipment history and a warranty claim filled in from the job; commissions, spiffs, a time clock and pay runs on every plan; a double-entry ledger with P&L and balance sheet on Pro.
  • Runs in a browser on any computer or tablet with nothing to install; a team that builds the website, runs the ads and connects your other systems, quoted separately.

Limits

  • No furniture vendor catalog feeds and no buying-group integrations — Ashley, Coaster, BrandSource and OneShop data have to come in as CSV or Excel.
  • No iPad or phone app today; the app is coming soon, and the web app on a tablet browser stands in until then.
  • Cloud only: there is no edition that keeps the data on your own server.
  • The online store is built by the team and quoted, not a self-serve site; the QuickBooks Online sync is coming soon; the card rate is shown in the app, not on the site.
  • Customer texts and the portal are on Pro and Premium; advanced list and pivot exports are on Premium; no house-charge accounts or customer statements.
  • A younger product with a smaller partner list than a system developed since 1997.

Side by side, in detail

What you needUpChannelsFurniture Wizard
What do I pay a month for a small shop?Pro is $149/mo per store (list $299), month-to-month, with two users included; Basic is $99 and Premium $199. No setup fee. Free 14-day trial, no credit card. Not published. Furniture Wizard’s sitemap lists eight URLs and none is a pricing page; /pricing returns 404; the homepage, cloud page and demo page name no price, fee, trial or contract term. The only next step on every page is "Schedule A Demo", with a toll-free number (checked 6 November 2026). Ask for the quote in writing, with the per-user and cloud-hosting terms spelled out.
What does another user or another store cost? The price is per store, not per seat. Two users are included and extra users come in packs of five at $29/mo a pack. A second store is a second subscription. Not stated. The cloud page says "Easily add users as your business grows" without a price, and the requirements page says a store with "more than 5 clients" or multiple locations needs the server or cloud edition (checked 6 November 2026).
Does it track every unit by serial number, with its condition?Yes. Serialized units follow their serial from receiving through reserved, sold and delivered; each carries a condition (New, Open box, Used, Damaged) and a status from your own list, with notes, photos and history. Every movement is a permanent ledger entry; a one-click audit finds and corrects drift; a cycle count records the variance and the reason.Serial numbers are not mentioned on the homepage or the features page, and no title in the help-center index names them (checked 6 November 2026). What is documented is "Real time inventory management", item location and status, barcode scanning for receiving, transfers between branches and floor or warehouse counts, and traffic-history reports. Treat serialization as not documented rather than absent — a furniture system may well track it — and ask in the demo.
Can it route a delivery and prove it was delivered?Yes, on every plan: arrange a driver’s stops in one click, send the driver a private link with no app to install, capture a signature, photos and notes at the door even with no signal, let the delivery settle the order, and message the customer at five points with a tracking link.Scheduling is built in: "Easily schedule multiple deliveries from one screen", pending-delivery invoices, maps and directions, a delivery calendar, delivery slips, labels and pick lists, and "one step end of day processing". Route optimization is the DispatchTrack partner integration, and the homepage names "delivery routing optimization" with a video. Proof of delivery — a signature, photos or a driver view — is not mentioned on any page we read; customer texts "when furniture arrives" come through the Kenect partner (checked 6 November 2026).
Can it run the repair bench — work orders, parts, a technician?Yes, on every plan. A service job with a lead technician and crew, a no-login link that gives each technician their day on their phone, parts from stock or ordered on a purchase order from the job, a price book for the trade, recurring visits, the customer’s equipment with its warranty dates and every visit since, and a warranty or protection-plan claim filled in from the job."Service Order Functions" is named on the features page and a "Service" report module is listed, with no description of what a service order holds or how it is scheduled; the homepage mentions "resolving customer service problems" (checked 6 November 2026). Protection plans are automated through the Guardsman partner integration. Treat the bench as not documented, and ask to see a service order in the demo.
How do customers pay — layaway, deposits, house accounts, lease-to-own?Deposits with the balance collected later, layaway-style holds, special orders from the customer who asked, store credit and gift cards, trade-in credit, loyalty points, and lease-to-own by named provider — Acima, Progressive, Snap, Katapult, FlexShopper, Okinus, American First — kept on the awaiting-funding list at cash close. No house-charge accounts, statements or receivables aging.Special orders are named on the homepage ("keeping track of special orders"). Layaway, deposits, house accounts, store credit and gift cards are not mentioned on the pages we read, and no financing or lease-to-own provider appears on the partner page — Synchrony, Wells Fargo, Acima, Snap, Progressive and Katapult are all absent (checked 6 November 2026). The help center has a "Returns Refunds Exchanges" article.
Can I take a card, and what does it cost?Either bring the processor you already use — UpChannels takes no percentage of your card volume — or turn on the Stripe add-on and charge a countertop smart reader from the order, at Stripe’s rate plus a platform fee shown in the app before you turn it on. We do not publish a blended number."One-Step Payment Processing" on the homepage, and Gravity Payments on the partner page, which "automates transaction processing, recording, and reconciliation". No rate, monthly fee or terminal price is published, and whether another processor can be used is not stated (checked 6 November 2026).
Does it close the month — P&L, balance sheet, QuickBooks?Pro and Premium include a double-entry ledger with a chart of accounts, a profit-and-loss and a balance sheet printable to PDF, bills checked against purchase orders, and accounts payable; bank reconciliation is a paid add-on. The QuickBooks Online sync — one balanced journal entry per store day — is built and coming soon; until it is switched on, our team connects QuickBooks as part of system integration."Single Click Accounting Exports" on the homepage, and on the partner page QuickBooks "syncs expenses and payables in one click and provides General Ledger reports such as the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet" — in QuickBooks. Whether that is QuickBooks Online or Desktop, and whether Furniture Wizard produces a P&L of its own, are not stated (checked 6 November 2026).
Can I sell online from the same stock, and where does the catalog come from?Through our team: we build your website on your own domain — a product storefront with checkout, a booking-first service site, or both — running on the same system as your counter. It is quoted, not published, and not self-serve. Supplier price lists come in from CSV or Excel; there are no vendor catalog feeds. This is Furniture Wizard’s strongest ground. The homepage names "Flexible eCommerce Websites" and the partner page a Nationwide Marketing Group OneShop website feed and Wondersign for the showroom, neither described in detail. Catalogs and stock come from the vendors themselves: Ashley stock checks, purchase orders and catalog import, the full Coaster catalog with images, and AVB/BrandSource product and pricing data (checked 6 November 2026).
What does it run on?A web app in any current browser on any computer or tablet; nothing to install, no server. The iPhone and Android app is built and coming soon.Three editions. Local: Windows 10 or higher (Professional), "NOT compatible with Apple computers", on a wired network. Server-based: Windows Server 2016 or higher with Remote Desktop Services, "Recommended for single-store solutions running more than 5 clients" and for multiple locations, with a VPN strongly recommended. Cloud-hosted: Windows 10 or macOS 10.14 or later with a 25 Mbps connection, which "removes the need for an on-site server". The iFurniture app "Only works on iPad; currently not available for iPhone, Android Tablets or Phones" (checked 6 November 2026).
More than one store?Every plan: each location has its own profile, stock, tax rules and staff; stock is counted per location and transferred with the movement recorded; reports run per location or across all. Each store is its own subscription.Yes: the point of sale shows stock status across branches and the scanner moves stock in transfers between branches; multiple locations need the server or cloud edition for remote access. A per-store price and how stock is shared or separated by branch are not stated (checked 6 November 2026).
Does it pay the staff — commissions, time clock, pay runs?Yes, on every plan: commission on sales or gross profit to whoever sold and whoever did the work, split between up to three people, manufacturer spiffs run between two dates, a PIN time clock with breaks recorded, a published schedule, and a pay run that works out what each person is owed, exported for whoever files payroll. UpChannels is not a payroll provider. The point of sale "calculates profit, margin, and markup" on the sale and security "will allow you to set permissions and restrict access" with user accountability. Commissions, a time clock, schedules and pay runs are not mentioned on the pages we read (checked 6 November 2026).
Who sets it up, and am I locked in?Setup help comes with every plan from the same team; month-to-month, cancel any time, no setup fee, and the trial takes no card.A toll-free and a local phone number, email, a knowledge base ("Help Me Wizard") and a training site ("University"); support hours, onboarding, implementation, contract length and cancellation terms are not stated, and the "Terms and Conditions" link was not read for this comparison (checked 6 November 2026).

Choose Furniture Wizard if

  • You buy from Ashley or Coaster and belong to BrandSource or Nationwide: Furniture Wizard checks Ashley stock, sends the purchase orders, imports the catalogs and takes the group data feeds. UpChannels imports a spreadsheet.
  • Your salespeople sell from an iPad on the floor today, with catalogs, images and the customer list in hand. iFurniture exists; our app is coming soon.
  • You want the system on your own Windows server, or the option to move to their cloud later. UpChannels is cloud only.
  • You already use DispatchTrack, Guardsman, Kenect or Podium and want them connected to the sale; Furniture Wizard names each as a partner.
  • You want a system developed for furniture stores since 1997 with hundreds of built-in reports, and you are comfortable getting the price from a demo rather than a page.

Choose UpChannels if

  • You want to know the price before the demo: $99 to $199 a month per store, a 14-day trial with no card, no setup fee.
  • You sell open-box, scratch-and-dent or used units and need the serial, the condition, the photos and the history on each one, with a ledger and an audit behind the count.
  • Delivery proof matters: a signature and photos at the door, a driver link with no app, and a tracking text to the customer — none of which is on Furniture Wizard’s pages.
  • Your customers lease, and you want Acima, Snap, Progressive and the rest as tenders by provider, reconciled at cash close.
  • You repair and service what you sell and want the technician’s day, the parts, the equipment history and the warranty claim in the same system as the sale — plus commissions, a time clock, pay runs and the books.
Common questions

Switching from Furniture Wizard

I am on Furniture Wizard today. What actually moves across?
Products, customers and stock come in from a spreadsheet: ask Furniture Wizard for an export of each (its pages do not say which formats it exports), and our importer takes CSV and Excel, treats the SKU as the product and the serial as the unit, and fills in product fields that are blank. Vendor catalog feeds do not move — Ashley and Coaster data would come in as a supplier price list — and open special orders and scheduled deliveries are usually re-entered. Run the two side by side for a few weeks while the stock loads.
Am I locked in on either side?
UpChannels is month-to-month on every plan with a 14-day trial that takes no card. Furniture Wizard’s contract length, cancellation terms and any hosting commitment for the cloud edition are not stated on its site (checked 6 November 2026); its Terms and Conditions page is the document to read before signing, and the quote should say whether the cloud hosting is a separate term.
Which is cheaper for my store?
We cannot say, because Furniture Wizard publishes no price. UpChannels is $99, $149 or $199 a month per store with two users, plus $29 for each pack of five more, and nothing for hardware you already own. When you get the Furniture Wizard quote, ask for the per-user price, the cloud-hosting fee, the iPad app, the server edition’s licence if you want it, and the cost of each partner integration (DispatchTrack, Guardsman, Kenect and Podium are separate companies with their own fees) — then compare year one and year three.
What gets worse if I switch?
Five things, plainly. You lose the Ashley stock check and purchase orders and the Coaster, BrandSource and OneShop feeds; supplier lists come in as spreadsheets. You lose the iPad selling app until ours ships; a tablet browser stands in. You lose the option of your own server. The partner connections — DispatchTrack, Guardsman, Kenect, Podium, Storetraffic — have no direct equivalent, though delivery routing, protection plans on the sale and customer texts are built in. And a store that liked hundreds of canned reports gets fewer, with export on every plan and pivot views on Premium.
Who should not switch?
A furniture store that buys from Ashley and Coaster through a buying group, sells from iPads on the floor, delivers through DispatchTrack and wants its data on its own server. Furniture Wizard was built around that store, and nothing on UpChannels replaces the vendor feeds. We would rather say so than sell you a serial-number ledger you will not use.
Can I keep QuickBooks?
Yes, with either. Furniture Wizard syncs expenses and payables to QuickBooks in one click and leaves the profit-and-loss and balance sheet to QuickBooks. UpChannels keeps its own double-entry ledger on Pro and Premium, exports any report as CSV, Excel or PDF, and will send each store day to QuickBooks Online as one journal entry when that sync is switched on; until then our team connects QuickBooks for you as part of system integration.
