EPASS runs a multi-branch dealer’s sales, service, warehouse and books in one enterprise system. UpChannels publishes its price and puts the delivery truck in the software.

EPASS is the deeper system for a dealer with more than one branch: its Enterprise page describes receivables, payables, check printing, financials and a profit-and-loss statement per branch or profit centre inside the system, access rights by department and sales division through what it calls "over 1400+ securities", a warehouse run on wireless scanners with barcoded bin locations, serial reserves and cycle counts, a technician app that takes card payments and quotes on site, and, from the same vendor, a done-for-you digital advertising service. UpChannels is the system with a price on the page — $149 a month per store on Pro, a 14-day trial with no card and no setup fee — and with the delivery truck inside the software: one-click route order, a driver link, a signature and photos at the door, a tracking link texted to the customer, and lease-to-own tenders recorded by provider and reconciled at cash close. EPASS publishes no price, plan or contract term and no card rate, and delivery routing, proof of delivery, lease-to-own, e-commerce, commissions and a staff time clock are not on the EPASS pages we could read; UpChannels has no house-charge accounts or customer statements, no bin locations, no P&L per branch within one account, a card rate shown in the app rather than on the site, and a QuickBooks Online sync that is coming soon. Eight EPASS pages could not be read on 6 November 2026 because the site rate-limited our requests, so this page has more "Not documented" marks than the others; treat each as a question to ask EPASS, not as an answer.

Comparing UpChannels Pro ($149/mo per store, 2 users included) with EPASS EPASS Enterprise (no published price; quoted after a demo request). Every fact about EPASS below was read from their own published pages on . Prices change — check theirs before you decide.

At a glance

A mark for EPASS means the feature is on their own pages as read on ; a mark for UpChannels means it ships today. "Partly" is a higher plan, an add-on, or part of the job. "Not documented" means we could not find it on their pages — not that they lack it. The detail for every row is in the table further down.

Strengths and limits, both sides

Written to the same standard for each: a limit of ours is stated as plainly as a limit of theirs. EPASS’s strengths are what their pages document; ours are what ships.

EPASS

Strengths

  • Sales and service in one enterprise system: when a service ticket is created, staff see the customer’s sales, payments, warranty and past service history on the same screen.
  • The books inside the system — receivables, payables, check printing, financials and a profit-and-loss statement per branch or profit centre — with export to another accounting package optional.
  • A warehouse built for scanners: shipments enter stock the moment they are scanned, barcoded bin labels say where each serialized unit and part sits, serials are reserved for a customer as any unit or one specific unit, and cycle counts, reconciliation tools and audits are included.
  • Mobile Technician on a laptop or tablet: digital work orders with parts and labour, card payments on site through EPASS Pay, quotes emailed from the customer’s home, truck stock and other trucks’ stock, the day’s calls with rescheduling, messaging with the office and a mapping tool.
  • Access rights by department and sales division — "over 1400+ securities" — and e-signatures on special orders, damaged goods, company terms and delivery conditions.
  • Embedded payments through Fullsteam: instant card processing, pre-authorisations, payment requests by email or text, and card-on-file with PCI tools.
  • A done-for-you digital advertising service from the same vendor, with a centralised team handling campaign setup, audience research and budget on Google Ads and Meta.

Limits

  • No price, plan, per-user fee, contract term or trial is published on any page we read; the way in is a demo request, and the Master Services Agreement linked in the footer was not read.
  • The card rate is described as "some of the lowest processing rates in the industry" and no figure is printed.
  • Whether the system runs in the cloud or on a server in the store is not stated on any page we read.
  • Delivery routing, proof of delivery, lease-to-own tenders, e-commerce, commissions, a staff time clock and a customer portal are not on the pages we could read.
  • The Mobile Technician page describes no photos or signatures on the job, and the service ticket describes no deposit.
  • Eight of its pages — Onboarding, EPASS Pay, Click to Pay, Reports, Mobile Salesperson, Services, Client Support and Request a Demo — rate-limited our reads on 6 November 2026, so this column is less complete than the others on this site.

UpChannels

Strengths

  • A price on the page: $149 a month per store on Pro with two users, $29 for each pack of five more, no setup fee, and a 14-day trial with no card.
  • The truck is in the system: one-click route order, a driver link with no app, signature and photos at the door even without signal, and a tracking link texted to the customer at five points.
  • Every serialized unit carries a condition and a status with photos and history, every movement is a permanent ledger entry, and a one-click audit finds and corrects drift.
  • Lease-to-own by provider, with the approval number kept on the awaiting-funding list at cash close until the provider pays.
  • Commissions and spiffs worked out per person, a time clock with breaks, a published schedule and pay runs, on every plan; a double-entry ledger with P&L and balance sheet on Pro and Premium.
  • A team that builds the website, runs Google and Meta ads and connects your other systems, quoted separately.

Limits

  • Not an enterprise system: no P&L per branch within one account, three roles (owner, manager, staff) rather than rights by department and division, and no bin locations in the warehouse.
  • No house-charge accounts, customer statements, credit limits or receivables aging; a balance is tracked per order.
  • The card rate is not published on the site; it is Stripe’s rate plus a platform fee shown in the app.
  • The QuickBooks Online sync is built and coming soon, not switched on; the team connects QuickBooks for you meanwhile.
  • The online store is built by the team and quoted, not self-serve; customer texts and the portal are on Pro and Premium only; online payment by the customer and the phone app are coming soon.
  • A technician’s photos and signature are captured at the delivery door and on the quote, not on every service job step.

Side by side, in detail

What you needUpChannelsEPASS
What do I pay a month for a small shop?Pro is $149/mo per store (list $299), month-to-month, with two users included; Basic is $99 and Premium $199. No setup fee. Free 14-day trial, no credit card. Not published. No EPASS page we read on 6 November 2026 — the homepage, Solutions, EPASS Enterprise, Mobile Technician, the Warehouse Management System or Digital Advertising — states a price, a plan, a per-user fee, a setup fee or a contract term; the only call to action is "Request a demo" (and "Try our demo" on the homepage). The Request a Demo and Onboarding pages could not be read (HTTP 429). Ask for the quote in writing with the onboarding fee and the term, and compare year one against $1,788 on UpChannels Pro.
What does another user or another branch cost?Nothing per register. The price is per store; two users are included and extra users come in packs of five at $29/mo a pack. A second store is a second subscription, and a P&L per location within one account is not a feature. Not stated on any page we read. What is stated is the shape of a multi-branch system: "multiple branches or profit centers, each with its own P&L", and access restricted "by department, sales division, and over 1400+ securities" (EPASS Enterprise page, 6 November 2026).
Does it track every unit by serial number, and run the warehouse?Yes. Serialized units follow their serial from receiving through reserved, sold and delivered; each carries a condition (New, Open box, Used, Damaged) and a status from your own list, with notes, photos and history. Receiving and counts scan with a barcode scanner or a phone camera; every movement is a permanent ledger entry; a one-click audit finds and corrects drift; a cycle count records the variance. There are no bin locations.Yes, and the warehouse is documented in more detail than ours. "you receive a shipment and it’s in the system immediately"; serialized inventory is tracked, with a regular reserve ("an available serial number is reserved for a customer") and an exclusive reserve for one specific unit; bins "keep track of exactly where in the warehouse your serialized and parts inventory is located" with barcoded bin labels; wireless scanners prompt staff to fix a mistake; damaged product gets a photo and the model moves to "As-Is"; "Cycle counts can be done quickly and as often as needed", with reconciliation tools and audits; truck stock has min/max settings copied between trucks. Open-box or scratch-and-dent grades beyond "As-Is" are not described (Warehouse Management System page, 6 November 2026).
Can it run the repair bench — work orders, parts, a technician?Yes, on every plan. A service job with a lead technician and crew, a no-login link that gives each technician their day on their phone, parts from stock or ordered on a purchase order from the job, a price book for the trade, recurring visits, the customer’s equipment with its warranty dates and every visit since, and a warranty or protection-plan claim filled in from the job with the proof of purchase. Signature and photos are captured at the delivery door and on the quote, not on each service step.Yes. The Enterprise page combines sales and service so that "When creating a service ticket" staff see the customer’s sales, payments, warranty and past service history. Mobile Technician: "All work orders are completed digitally" — service performed, parts used or needed, labour and payments entered on a laptop or tablet in real time; technicians "accept and process credit card payments directly in Mobile Technician", create and email quotes on site, "View every job, including service performed, labor, and all parts used", see shop stock and other trucks’ stock, check and reschedule their calls and take an extra one when they finish early, message the office, and use an integrated mapping tool. Dispatch, photos, signatures, a warranty-claim form and the operating system are not mentioned (both pages, 6 November 2026).
Can it route a delivery and prove it was delivered?Yes, on every plan: arrange a driver’s stops in one click, send the driver a private link with no app to install, capture a signature, photos and notes at the door even with no signal, let the delivery settle the order, and message the customer at five points with a tracking link. Not documented on the pages we read. The Enterprise page describes the system as covering "point of sale all the way through to payment and delivery" and takes e-signatures on "delivery conditions" at the sale; the warehouse page tracks returns of "products that couldn’t be delivered" and truck stock; Mobile Technician maps service stops. Delivery routing, a driver view and a signature or photo at the door are not described (6 November 2026).
How do customers pay — deposits, house accounts, lease-to-own?Deposits with the balance collected later, special orders from the customer who asked, store credit and gift cards, trade-in credit, loyalty points, and lease-to-own by named provider — Acima, Progressive, Snap, Katapult, FlexShopper, Okinus, American First — kept on the awaiting-funding list at cash close. No house-charge accounts, statements or receivables aging.Receivables are run inside the system, alongside payables and check printing, and cards can be pre-authorised and kept on file with payment requests sent by email or text (Enterprise and Solutions pages). Statements, credit limits, aging, layaway, deposits, financing and lease-to-own are not described on the pages we read, and the EPASS Pay and Click to Pay pages could not be read (6 November 2026).
Can I take a card, and what does it cost?Either bring the processor you already use — UpChannels takes no percentage of your card volume — or turn on the Stripe add-on and charge a countertop smart reader from the order, at Stripe’s rate plus a platform fee shown in the app before you turn it on. We do not publish a blended number.EPASS Pay is "a complete enterprise and embedded third-party payments platform": "Process credit cards instantly", pre-authorisations, collection by email or text, cards on file with built-in PCI compliance tools, terminals and integrated reporting. EPASS states it does not provide payment services itself; they are provided by Fullsteam Operations LLC in the United States and FS Payments Canada Ltd. in Canada. The rate is described as "some of the lowest processing rates in the industry" with no figure, and whether another processor can be used is not stated (Solutions and Enterprise pages, 6 November 2026; the EPASS Pay page could not be read).
Does it close the month — P&L, balance sheet, QuickBooks?Pro and Premium include a double-entry ledger with a chart of accounts, a profit-and-loss and a balance sheet printable to PDF, bills checked against purchase orders, and accounts payable; bank reconciliation is a paid add-on. The QuickBooks Online sync is built and coming soon; until it is switched on, our team connects QuickBooks as part of system integration. The Enterprise page puts "receivables, payables, check printing, financials, and P&L statements" inside the system, with a P&L per branch or profit centre, and says export to another accounting package is optional. A balance sheet, a general ledger and QuickBooks are not named, and the EPASS Reports page could not be read (6 November 2026).
Can a customer see their order, pay, or buy online? On Pro and Premium the Customer Portal gives every customer a link to their own order — status, appointments, quote approval, a schedule-change request and a review request — with no account to create; paying the balance from the portal is coming soon. The online store is built by our team on your own domain and quoted.Payment requests go out by email or text through EPASS Pay, and EPASS Click to Pay is named in the navigation with a Fullsteam disclaimer. A customer portal and an online store are not described on the pages we read, and the Click to Pay page could not be read (6 November 2026).
More than one branch?Every plan: each location has its own profile, stock, tax rules and staff; stock is counted per location and transferred with the movement recorded; reports run per location or across all. Each store is its own subscription, and there are three roles: owner, manager and staff.Yes, and this is the system’s shape: "multiple branches or profit centers, each with its own P&L", access restricted "by department, sales division, and over 1400+ securities", and the warehouse page copies truck-stock settings between trucks. Per-branch pricing is not stated (6 November 2026).
Who sets it up, and am I locked in?Setup help comes with every plan from the same team; month-to-month, cancel any time, no setup fee, and the trial takes no card. The homepage lists Onboarding and a "white-glove training and support experience" among its services, the footer links a TeamViewer QuickSupport download, a Support Portal, a Master Services Agreement, a Referral Program and a 2026 User Conference. What onboarding includes and costs, support hours, the contract term and cancellation are not stated on the pages we read: the Onboarding, Services and Client Support pages could not be read and the Master Services Agreement was not read (6 November 2026). Read it before signing.
Will someone run my advertising?Yes, quoted separately: our team sets up and runs Google Search and Performance Max campaigns and the Google Business Profile, builds and runs Meta campaigns with retargeting from your own customer records, builds the website, and connects your other systems.Yes, quoted: a Digital Advertising Management Service to "generate more leads, increase sales, and maximize your marketing ROI", in which "our centralized digital marketing team handles campaign setup, audience research, and budget optimization" on platforms like Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager, with performance tracking. The page announces "the launch" of the service without a date; pricing, minimums, whether EPASS software is required, and results are not stated (Digital Advertising page, 6 November 2026).

Choose EPASS if

  • You run more than one branch and want receivables, payables, check printing and a profit-and-loss per branch inside the same system as the sales and the service tickets, with access rights set by department and division.
  • Your warehouse runs on scanners: bin locations with barcoded labels, shipments in stock the moment they are scanned, serials reserved for a customer as any unit or one specific unit, cycle counts and audits built in.
  • Your technicians need to quote and take card payments at the customer’s home from a laptop or tablet, with the day’s calls, truck stock and a map in the same app.
  • You want sales, service, payments and a done-for-you advertising program from one vendor, and you are comfortable getting the price, the term and the onboarding fee in a quote rather than on a page.

Choose UpChannels if

  • You want to know the price before you call: $149 a month per store on Pro, no setup fee, a 14-day trial with no card, month-to-month.
  • Delivery is half your week. Route order in one click, a driver link with no app, a signature and photos at the door even without signal, and a tracking text to the customer — none of which is on the EPASS pages we could read.
  • You sell open-box, scratch-and-dent and used units and need the condition, the photos and the history on each serial, with a ledger and an audit behind the count.
  • Your customers lease. Acima, Snap, Progressive, Katapult and the rest are tenders by provider, reconciled at cash close when the provider pays; financing is not on the EPASS pages we read.
  • You want the team’s commissions, spiffs, time clock and pay runs worked out in the same place as the sales, and a team that builds the website as well as running the ads.
Common questions

Switching from EPASS

I am on EPASS today. What actually moves across?
Products, customers and serialized units come in from a spreadsheet: our importer takes CSV and Excel, treats the SKU as the product and the serial as the unit, and fills in product fields that are blank. Ask EPASS for a full export first — the pages we read do not say what it exports, and its Reports page could not be read. Open service tickets, receivables balances and bin assignments are re-entered rather than imported: a house-account balance has nowhere to go in UpChannels, which tracks a balance per order, and UpChannels has no bins. Run the two side by side while the stock loads.
Am I locked in on either side?
UpChannels is month-to-month on every plan with a 14-day trial that takes no card and no setup fee. EPASS publishes no contract term on the pages we read; its footer links a Master Services Agreement, which we did not read and you should, before signing — the term, the onboarding fee and the cancellation clause are the three lines to find.
Which is cheaper for my store?
We cannot say, and neither can anyone who has not asked EPASS. UpChannels Pro is $1,788 a year per store with two users, plus $348 a year for each pack of five more users, plus add-ons you choose. EPASS publishes no price, so get the quote in writing with the onboarding fee, the per-user or per-branch charge and the term, and compare year one and year three. If the quote includes the advertising service, compare it against ours, which is also quoted.
What gets worse if I switch?
Five things, plainly. You lose a P&L per branch inside one account; ours is per store subscription. You lose receivables with statements; balances are per order. You lose bin locations and a warehouse built around wireless scanners; we scan receiving and counts with a scanner or a phone camera. You lose rights by department and division; we have owner, manager and staff. And your technicians lose card payments taken inside the job on a tablet until our online payment ships; today they take the deposit at the counter or the balance on the truck through the Stripe reader.
Who should not switch?
A multi-branch dealer whose month closes inside EPASS — receivables, payables, per-branch P&L — and whose warehouse is run on its scanners and bins. That is the system EPASS describes itself as, and UpChannels does not do those four things the same way. We would rather say so than sell you a delivery board to replace a general ledger.
Can I keep QuickBooks?
With UpChannels, yes: it keeps its own double-entry ledger on Pro and Premium, exports any report as CSV, Excel or PDF, and will send each store day to QuickBooks Online as one journal entry when that sync is switched on; until then our team connects QuickBooks for you as part of system integration. EPASS says export to another accounting package is optional and does not name QuickBooks on the pages we read; ask them which packages and in what form.
