UpChannels
πŸš€Onboarding

Set up your store
in three guided steps.

UpChannels walks a new store from sign-up to its first sale: a short course in how the system fits together, an owner-only wizard for business type, location and tax, then a checklist that ticks itself off as your products, services and first order appear. It is built for small retailers and service businesses, so setup asks for your tax rate and store hours β€” not a project plan.

Get Started, step by step

What do you have to set up before your first sale?

Three steps, in this order. The first teaches, the second configures, and the third checks itself off as real data arrives.

✨Step 1 · Knowing Basics

Sign up, and the
workspace is yours.

Business name, email, password β€” that is the whole sign-up form. UpChannels creates a workspace that belongs to your store, with you as its owner, then opens a two-minute crash course before you configure anything: the basic workflow, what a catalog is and how it differs from inventory, and how stock is counted.

πŸ—οΈStep 2 Β· Profile Setting

Three screens, and the
system fits your trade.

The owner fills in one short wizard: business type, then owner and organization details, then your first location with its address, hours and tax rate. Picking an industry β€” electronics, apparel, liquidation, furniture, appliance and restaurant retail, or HVAC, plumbing, landscaping, auto repair, appliance repair and beauty services, or a general profile β€” preloads a suggested tax rate and attaches your store to that industry template.

A dozen industry presets, plus a general oneAddress lookup, store hours and tax rule on one screenOwner-only, and re-openable any time to change an answer
πŸ“ŠStep 3 Β· Prepare to Sell

A checklist that
ticks itself off.

The last step lists what has to exist before your first sale β€” products, services, a first order, a scheduled job β€” and each item links straight to the screen that creates it. Nothing is ticked by hand: UpChannels reads your inventory, service profiles, orders and schedule, and turns each item green once the real record is there.

Common questions

Setup questions, answered

How long does it take to set up UpChannels?
The owner’s part is usually one sitting. The setup wizard is three screens β€” business type, owner and organization details, then your first location with its address, hours and tax rate β€” and that is the whole configuration a new store has to do. Loading what you sell is the longer job: a store with an existing product spreadsheet imports it in an afternoon, while a store that has never kept one has to build the list first. The 14-day trial takes no credit card, so all of this happens before you decide.
Do I have to enter my whole inventory before I can make a sale?
No β€” one product or one service is enough. UpChannels holds the rest of the app back until your organization has an active location with a tax rate and at least one thing to sell; until then the owner’s sidebar shows the setup steps and other pages send you back to them. Once either a product or a service exists, the gate lifts and you can write orders while you keep loading the rest of the catalog.
Can I import my product list instead of typing it in?
Yes. The Import tab under procurement orders takes a CSV, and you can download a sample template that already carries the columns for your trade β€” there are templates for twelve industries plus a general one. Two row formats are supported: a bulk row that carries a quantity for a SKU, and a trackable row that is one physical unit with its own serial number. Every row is matched and checked on screen, with counts and any problems shown, before anything is written to inventory.
Does the setup look different for an HVAC company than for a furniture store?
Partly. Choosing your business type on the first screen β€” electronics, apparel, liquidation, furniture, appliance and restaurant retail, or HVAC, plumbing, landscaping, auto repair, appliance repair and beauty services, or a general profile β€” preloads a suggested default tax rate, attaches your organization to that industry profile, and decides which import template you download. It does not build your catalog or your price list for you; that part is still your data. The preset can be changed later in Settings without starting the setup over.
Who on my team has to do the setup?
The owner. The profile wizard is owner-only β€” anyone else who opens it sees an access notice instead of the form, so a staff account cannot change the store address or the tax rate. The basics course and the prepare-to-sell checklist are open to everyone you invite, and all three steps can be read in English, Spanish or Chinese. Every plan includes two users, with extra seats sold in packs of five; see plans and pricing.
Can I see how a screen works before I put real data into it?
Yes. About thirty screens in UpChannels β€” orders, inventory, sales, scheduling, reports, messages, reviews and more β€” have a Demo link that opens the same page filled with sample data, with a guided tour that walks it step by step. Actions are disabled in demo mode, so nothing you click there touches your account. The Get Started page has one too, so you can read all three setup steps before you begin them.
Can someone from UpChannels do the setup for me?
Yes β€” that is the other half of what UpChannels sells. The software is built so an owner can finish setup alone, but there is also a real team that does the work a small store rarely gets to: building the website and customer portal, running Google and Facebook ads, connecting QuickBooks and an existing POS so nothing is typed twice, and designing the automations around how your store actually works. Onboarding & Setup is one part of UpChannels

UpChannels sets a new store up in three guided steps: a short course in how the system fits together, an owner-only wizard for business type, owner details and your first location and tax rate, then a checklist of everything needed before the first sale. It is built for small retailers and service businesses β€” liquidation, electronics, appliance and furniture stores, HVAC, plumbing, lawn care and repair shops β€” so choosing your industry preloads a suggested tax rate and a CSV import template that matches what you sell. The checklist marks itself off as real products, services and orders appear, rather than asking you to tick boxes.

UpChannels is an all-in-one platform for small retailers and service businesses β€” sales, inventory, customers, scheduling, delivery, payments and finance in one system β€” and a real team that builds your website, runs your ads, and automates the busywork. Every capability below is included in the same subscription, with no integration to wire up between them.

The product moves faster than this page. UpChannels ships updates most weeks, so a description here can lag what is already in the software. Where the two disagree, the running product is the current version β€” tell us if you find one and we will correct the page.
